Last year’s Galaxy S6 was the best smartphone to come from Samsung yet. With its all new sleek design and better features, the smartphone has been dubbed one of the best in the market. In fact, the phone may have overtaken Apple’s iPhone 6 with some top review sites dubbing the Galaxy S6 as the best phone of 2015.

After years of reining the mobile phone industry, it looks like Samsung is finally closing in on Apple, but until when? With the recent release of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, Apple is upping the game even more. In response, Samsung created an even bigger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge they named the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Between these two larger screen phones, which one is really the better choice?

Screen Size

If a phablet is what you want, the first key selling point you should look into is the screen size. iPhone 6S Plus is Apple’s biggest phone yet featuring a 5.5-inch screen with LCD tech and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The screen also features iPhone 6 Plus’ retina display with an additional exciting and edgy feature, the 3D touch. Samsung’s biggest phone yet, the S6 Edge+, on one hand, features a slightly bigger screen of 5.7-inches. It uses an AMOLED display for a sharper screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

Design

In terms of design, both phones look high-end featuring a sleek look that also feels like every bit its high-end price. For comparison’s sake, you’ll see that the iPhone 6S Plus features a design that is very similar to its predecessor. The few differences include the size, the thickness and the additional color option of rose gold finish. As for the S6 Edge+, there’s no question that it is one of Samsung’s best looking phones to date. It features a thinner design than the 6S Plus.

Performance

Both phones are without doubt powerful devices. The S6 Edge+, for example, boasts a powerful processor with 4GB RAM. Whether you’re running basic or extensive tasks and even multitasking, Samsung’s phablet got you covered. The same is true for iPhone 6S Plus. Improving on its predecessor’s A8 chip, the new Apple phablet is more improved with the A9 chip. It is believed to be more powerful and even faster than the A8 chip.

Camera

Of course, let’s not forget the camera. To sell the iPhone 6S Plus, Apple went out of its way to boost the phone’s rear camera. The Apple phablet now has a 12MP sensor from 8MP and it has a capability to record a 4K video. The S6 Edge+, on one hand, features a 16MP camera. It can also shoot 4k videos in addition to the optical image stabilization function.

Which is better?

Both phones have their own set of key selling points. One phone may have a better camera while the other a better resolution. Either way, both phones have a great set of features that is sure to meet your needs. In the end, it will boil down to whether you prefer iPhone or Samsung more.
